Government
The city of Tipoli is ruled by its Baron or Baroness. The post is usually inherited by the first born of the previous Baron of House Tedicce.. The current Baron is Lord Ugo Tedicce, Baron of Tipoli. House Tedicce are adherents of Arkal the Hawk.
The Baron appoints all of the major positions in the city save those of the clergy.
The Lord Exchequer presides over the city’s bureaucracy. This bureaucracy is devoted primarily to the maintenance of the city treasury and the collection of taxes.
The Lord High Magistrate presides over the city’s court system. He appoints lesser magistrates for each of the city’s districts.
The Lord of the Watch presides over the city’s militia and local enforcement of the Baron’s law.
The Lord of the Harbor presides over the city’s harbor watch and collects duties and tariffs in the Baron’s name.
The Lord Herald heads the defense of the inner keep and is the keeper of all the city’s records.
