The Scattering refers to the massive diaspora of peoples after the great cataclysm known as The Rivening produced The Rift and utterly destroyed the Elder Races of the Aedonii and Ysar.

After the initial sundering of the continent, the various peoples scattered into tribes and desperately fought for land and position for a hundred years before the first nations (Achera and Tarsas) emerged from the wreckage, marking the end of that period known as the Scattering.
