Bio:
Istvan was born to a troupe of traveling performers in Kuskar around 486 AT. His childhood was filled with the various highs and lows that life on the road can provide. He struck out on his own as a traveling bard when he was 18. Since that time he has developed a bit of a reputation on the road as being “soft thinking, hard drinking”.
Istvan thought that his fortunes had finally changed when he came across an ancient Dwarven tome buried in the library of an Ornish nobleman with delusions of higher learning. Every bard worthy of the name had heard the legend of Ithraniel’s tomb and the four-keyed vault of Anglorion. And in this dry, dusty recording of building accounts, Istvan thought he had found a clue to one of the four keys. An obscure building project referred to as a “key chamber”, part of a larger work funded by an “FG” had caught Istvan’s eye. Istvan believed that this “FG” was none other than Ithraniel’s former companion, Fundin Glitterstone, and that these plans were for a hiding place of one of the four keys to the vault containing the fabled “perfect lute”. If what he believed was true, then this key chamber was built as part of an elaborate complex beneath Khazak-Ur. Istvan copied the pages of the book while he had the chance and left on his own quest to find the key.
Unfortunately for Istvan, his fortunes had not taken a turn for the better. As his travels took him northeast toward Khazak-Ur, he encountered a band of brigands near Darkmoon Vale. Would he meet an ignoble end? Would another, one whose relationship with Lady Fortune was not quite so estranged, have to take up the quest?
Istvan died in the sewers beneath Ebongate fighting a hydra. His body was interred in the necropolis at Ebongate by priests of Sadum. He will be remembered for his bravery and his talent.
