Shadows of the Rift
Zyend
Large trade city in Achera, on the western coast of the Sea of Jirra. The city sits on the delta of the Zyndara River.
Zyend is a powerful trade city in Achera and is one of the country’s main ports. There is also a strong naval militia that protects that port from brigands and Freeholders from the south.

Money Changing
Money may be exchanged for any denomination for a fee of 2%. This fee may be avoided if a member of a bank or trade guild.
Government
The city of Zyend is ruled by its Governor. This post is appointed by The Kargan of Achera.
The Governor appoints all of the major positions in the city save those of the clergy.
The Minister of the Treasury presides over the city’s bureaucracy. This bureaucracy is devoted primarily to the maintenance of the city treasury and the collection of taxes. The Minister is also the keeper of all the city’s records.
The High Magistrate presides over the city’s court system. He appoints lesser magistrates for each of the city’s districts.
The Captain of the Guard presides over the city’s militia and local enforcement of the Governor’s law.
The Harbormaster presides over the city’s harbor watch and collects duties and tariffs in the Governor’s name.
