The University of Kalimsport is located near the center of the city on Sage’s Hill. It is comprised of several Colleges, unified under one banner. It is a closed campus—members of the public must have a sponsor to utilize its services or make special arrangements with its sages. It is renowned throughout the continent as the premier institution of higher learning.
The University began as Voss College in 119 AT. The College was founded by Talya Voss, daughter of Kalim Voss, the original founder of the city of Kalimsport. Like her father, she was a well-traveled individual and wanted a place to collect the various bits of knowledge she acquired on her travels. By the time of her death in 178 AT, the college had grown to include several new schools and degrees.
The various schools of Voss College came under the new name of the University of Kalimsport in the spring of 276 AT per a charter granted by the Overlord at that time. The University has continued to grew since that time into the world’s premier institution of higher learning. Scholars from throughout the known world flock to the city to take advantage of its vast libraries and renowned lecturers.
