The Ysar, accompanied by The Aedonii, are one of two peoples that comprise the Elder Races who ruled the world before The Rivening. The Elves claim to be descendants of the Ysar, while Humans claim the ancestry of The Aedonii.

According to legend, the Ysar were an ethereal, magical race that could take the form of light and travel the cosmos. They were reputed to be immortal, or close enough for mortality not to matter any longer.
