The Song and Shield is a modest inn located near the famed western gate of the city of Ebongate. It is owned by Azuredee Silverthistle and Alys Mournbow and managed by Lew Coinspinner.

The inn was formerly the Ruddy Wolf and owned by Lew Coinspinner until it was bought out by Silverthistle and Mournbow in Harvest of 508. The two adventurers purchased expansions to the inn, such as a courtyard and an extra bedroom, and reopened it under its new name. Lew had originally inherited the inn from her brother, who won it in a gambling game.

On any given night there is a 50% chance that the companions Matrim and Joia will be on hand, plying their trade.
