Northron Creation Myth

Religion

In the beginning, the wellspring of Fate sat in a mighty void. Mighty Hvranthr, the Lonely God, looked upon the void and planted his seed within the wellspring. From that seed grew three roots: Middenjeim, Aesenjeim, and Nifenjeim. As the World Tree grew and flourished, so did the worlds at their root. Middenjeim sprang forth many mountains, seas, and rivers. It also gave birth to the foul Grundr, who covered the world with filth. From Aesenjeim came the Aesen, the gods, who fought with the Grundr and drove them from the earth.

But Middenjeim was empty of life, so the Aesen formed men and women from the bones of the Grundr. Yülthn, the All-Father, breathed life into the forms and gave them consciousness. Then the Aesen went into the Gate and returned to their realm to rule over their creation, waiting for the day when the Grundr would return for the Final Battle.
