Shadows of the Rift
Morria
Morria (MORE-ee-a) is the Lady of Battle, the goddess of conflict, war, and death.
Morria is one of the Later Gods of the Midron pantheon, birthed of the elements rather than the First Gods. She is a powerful and influential deity, often present in the contests between the gods, as conflict is her nature.
Relationships
Morria is the twin sister of Kysk, Lord of Blood. She lives for the opposition of the other gods, often conducting elaborate schemes to thwart their purposes.
Morria revels in the battles and wars of humankind and often works to instigate such conflicts where none would be necessary.
Appearances and Emissaries
Morria appears as a raven-haired woman in black, half-plate armor and a great, ebony spear. Her eyes are the color of blood. She is also known to take the form of a raven and to frequent battlefields to survey her handiwork.
Worship of Morria
War is an inevitable consequence of human existence. Conflict is the ultimate test of one’s mettle. Reveling in the death of one’s enemies is, in fact, a celebration of survival. Power is deserved only by those that demonstrate strength in arms.
Prayers to Morria are often delivered before conflicts and in the heat of battle.
Worshipers and Clergy
Warriors, soldiers, and wild men tend to worship Morria and hold her precepts dear.
Clergy devoted to Morria wear black garb with raven motifs. They are devoted to promoting warfare and strength of arms.
Temples and Shrines
Temples to Morria tend to be fortresses devoted to raiding or training for open conflict. Sometimes battlefield shrines are erected, but these are often discouraged by armies devoted to Good.
Obediences
Certain devout followers of Morria perform daily rituals in hopes of receiving special blessings. Take your weapon of choice and hold it before you. Recite a pledge to Morria, dedicating blood shed to her name and glory. Kiss the weapon and complete the ritual. Gain a +2 profane bonus to hit and damage with your weapon of choice. It is treated as ‘magic’ for the purposes of damage reduction and resistances. Gain a +2 profane bonus to Intimidate checks.
