Government

The city of Lenay is governed by its Holder, who is elected every three years by the adult populace of the city.

The Holder appoints all of the major positions in the city save those of the clergy.

The Bursar presides over the city’s bureaucracy. This bureaucracy is devoted primarily to the maintenance of the city treasury and the collection of taxes.

The City Councillor presides over the city’s court system. He appoints lesser magistrates for each of the city’s districts.

The Commander of the Guard presides over the city’s militia.

The Constable maintains order and is responsible for the local enforcement of the Holder’s law.

The Harbormaster presides over the city’s harbor watch and collects duties and tariffs in the Holder’s name.

Points of Interest

Lenay is known as a good tourist destination. It’s cobblestone streets are dotted with picturesque parks and secluded groves for romantic rendezvous.

There is also a statue of the half-orc hero Tanak Longshield, a Cavelier of the Order of the Shield who originally hailed from Lenay.

The Thistledown Inn: A modest inn in the city’s mercantile district.
