A few languages are members of multiple families. Treat them as members of each family for purposes of understanding.

Tradespeak

Tradespeak is an amalgam of the various tongues of the land. It developed as an argot during the years of the Acheran Empire and has grown into a full-fledged language, despite its pidgin roots.

Because it is an amalgam of various civilized tongues, anyone that can write/speak Tradespeak can attempt to understand writing/speech of other non-tribal or secret languages:

“High” Languages

Some languages have a “high” or formal/stylized version of their native tongue. This is often used in courts and other high functions. Those that know the base tongue may make an INT check to understand the “high” version.
