Campaign of the Month: September 2018
Shadows of the Rift
Hathras
Hathras (HATH-ras) is the Lord of the Winds, the everlasting sky, and the patron of travelers.
Hathras is one of the Later Gods of the Midron pantheon, birthed of the elements rather than the First Gods. His church is dedicated to venerating the sky and the winds and making the way safe for travel.
Relationships
Far less temperamental than his tempestuous counterpart, Nimar, Hathras is well-respected within the pantheon for his measured responses to crises. Nevertheless, when angered, his ire is a dangerous force to behold. He often finds himself in contention with Nimar for the fate of sailors, as some call upon her as the force of the seas themselves while others call upon him for favorable winds.
Hathras is not indifferent to plight of humanity, though he must often be convinced to intercede on a human’s behalf and to aid them in their journeys.
Appearances and Emissaries
Hathras appears as a young man dressed in blue robes with short, white hair and blue eyes. He has also been known to appear as a white owl or an albatross.
Worship of Hathras
Hathras controls the skies and the winds. He is the patron of safe travel, be it by land or water. It is by his leave that a journey can have clear skies and soft winds or dark clouds and storm.
Prayers to Hathras often accompany the start of a journey or each day of a long trek.
Worshipers and Clergy
Sailors, farmers, and frequent are drawn to worship Hathras for their livelihood.
Clergy that have devoted themselves to Hathras wear blue robes trimmed in white. Many times clerics of Hathras will accompany caravans and adventurers to help ensure their safety over the course of the journey.
Temples and Shrines
Temples to Hathras are always located on a high ridge or hill and are open to the sky. Small wayside shrines are also erected along roadways that sometimes have supplies left by the faithful for fellow travelers.
Obediences
Certain followers of Hathras perform daily rituals to draw the attention and blessings of the god.
