Government

The town of Esayi is ruled by it’s Emir or Emira. The title is hereditary and has been passed from first-born to first-born for generations. The current Emir is Akbar Rom.

The Minister of the Treasury presides over the city’s bureaucracy. This bureaucracy is devoted primarily to the maintenance of the town treasury and the collection of taxes. The Treasury Minister is also the keeper of all the town’s records.

The Minister of Law presides over the city’s court system.

The city’s militia is commanded by a Watch Commander who answers directly to the Emir.

The Rivermaster presides over the town’s river harbor watch and collects duties and tariffs in the Emir’s name.
