According to the Mazranites, Daeva (singular and plural) are evil spirits that have been warped by the powers of destruction, The Nazul. Daeva are essentially demons but it is believed that they were once the souls of evil people, damned by their actions and Azumartuk’s final judgment to spend eternity in service to the chaotic whims of The Nazul.
