Government
The city of Crownport is ruled by the Crown Prince of Ornis. In the absence of a Crown Prince, it is generally ruled by a regent appointed by the King.
The Lord Chamberlain presides over the city’s bureaucracy. This bureaucracy is devoted primarily to the maintenance of the city treasury and the collection of taxes.
The High Masistrate presides over the city’s court system. He appoints lesser magistrates for each of the city’s districts.
The Commander of the Watch presides over the city’s militia.
The Lord Sheriff enforces the Prince’s law within the city walls.
The Harbormaster presides over the trade in the harbor and the collection of appropriate duties and tariffs on goods brought to port.
Points of Interest
The Royal Palace sit atop Pynrose Hill, overlooking the city.
King’s Lake, to the north of the city, is one of Zaldara’s natural wonders.
The city also houses a great University (The University of Crownport) in one of the city’s districts.
While Crownport houses temples for all the major Midron religions, it is especially proud of its temple to Simaeas in the University district.
Crownport is strategically located on a bountiful deep-water harbor.
Being the capital city of Ornis, it attracts visitors from across the kingdom and beyond.
