Ika, a bard, joined the Umbra Carnival when it passed through her home country of Tarsas. Since that time she has become a close friend, a confidant, and finally, a lover to Almara Delisen, Mistress of the Carnival.

During that time, she created the illusion of their main attraction, Jherizhana the Sphinx. It was a secret shared by the carnival at-large, but never with the public until the carnival in general, and Jherizhana in specific, was implicated in string of heinous crimes outside the city of Skeene in Leilior (see The Story under “Under the Big Top”).
