Darice was a guide on an expedition in southern Acheran to some Aedonii ruins. She was captured by orcs and maltreated, ending up with child. She was later rescued by the Crimson Cord and returned to Asdari. She agreed to allow the troupe to take her child for adoption in Yrda, hoping to provide a happier life for the babe.

She named the boy-child Cord after her rescuers.
